Abstract
The various methods and experiments of generic transformation and rege neration of the important pulses belonging to the legume genera Phaseo lus and Vigna are reviewed. As the literature of these topics is widel y dispersed in different journals, some of which are not easily availa ble, details are given on the genotypes studied, and the media and hor mones used. The results obtained so far are described, and some new at tempts made in our laboratory are shown. The problems in legume biotec hnology and some future aims are briefly discussed.
