Abstract
The security services have enjoyed a marked resurgence in Russian political life since the official demise of the KGB. The past three prime ministers and the current president all have close connections to the police and secu rity intelligence organizations, raising legitimate concerns that a "KGB mi ndset" will penetrate Kremlin politics.
