Building an academic library website: experiences at De Montfort University

The article describes the design and implementation process for developing an academic library website at De Montfort University (DMU) and gives pract ical guidance and advice. The aim of the website is to provide access to qu ality information services for students and staff at a large decentralised university. The article discusses resources and subject areas that are spec ific to DMU's teaching and learning environment. However it aims, where pos sible, to give generalised advice to any academic library that is consideri ng building a website in the hope that others will benefit from the DMU exp erience.
