Abstract
The effect of accelerated ageing at 90 degrees C and 69% relative humidity on a stack of 30 sheets of commercial alum-rosin sized, fully bleached kraf t paper was studied. Colour (CIE b*), zero-span tensile strength and pH mea surements were used to test the stack that was contained by a glass plate a t the bottom and a 1 inch plexiglass open frame at the top. All three types of measurements indicated migration of volatile acidic degradation product s within the stack and out through the open plexiglass window.
