Abstract
The standard molar enthalpies of solution of {DyBr3(s)+ KCl(s)}, {DyI3 (s) + KCl(s)}, {DyDl(3)(s) + KBr(s)}, and {DyCl3(s) + KI(s)} in 0.1025 mol.dm(-3) HCl(aq) have been measured. From these values the standard molar enthalpies of formation of DyBr3(s) and DyI,(s) have been deriv ed: Delta(f)H(m)(o) (DyBr3, s, 298.15 K) = -(836.2 +/- 1.5) kJ.mol(-1) and Delta(f)H(m)(o) (DyI3, s,298.15 K) = - (620.5 +/- 1.8) kJ.mol(-1) .
