We report on the magnetic, transport and thermal measurements for a single-
crystal sample of CeNi0.82Cu0.18Sn. An antiferromagnetic order below T-N =
3.5 K is observed in magnetic susceptibility chi, specific heat C and elect
rical resistivity. The specific heat jump at T-N is only 0.7 J/mol K and a
large value of C/T= 380 mJ/mol K-2 remains at 0.5 K. The strong magnetic an
isotropy, chi(a) > chi(b) > chi(c), is similar to that for the host compoun
d CeNiSn. From the analysis of chi(T), we derived a set of crystal-field pa
rameters, which yield the ground state consisting mainly of \J(z)] = \ +/-
