Ht. Qiu et Yn. Wang, Coulomb explosions for swift C-60 ion-clusters penetrating in solids II - The molecular dynamics simulations, ACT PHY C E, 49(8), 2000, pp. 1534-1540
We study the interaction of the swift C-60 ion-clusters with solids. The dy
namic interacting forces acting on the individual ions in the cluster are d
erived based on the linear-response dielectric theory with the PLA dielectr
ic function, and a set of equations describing the motion of the individual
ions is obtained. It has been shown that by solving the equations of the m
otion, the wake effects of the dynamic interactions result in the strong as
ymmetric structures of the high-velocity C-60 clusters, i.e., the leading i
ons in the cluster explode very fast, while the trailing ions in the cluste
r almost remain in stable states.
