Abstract
Two axes of lycophytes are described for the first time from sedimentary ro cks in the "Area Interserrana" of the Buenos Aires Province (Sauce Grande o r Claromeco Basin). These specimens are assigned to Malanzania nana Archang elsky et al. The presence of this species appears to be useful to refer the se strata as Upper Carboniferous (very probably equivalent with part of the Sauce Grande Formation).
