Abstract
Objective: To examine the association of TriTrac recorded activity with com monly used measures of activity and associated constructs. Method: TriTrac scores were correlated with 3 direct self-report measures, 4 indirect activ ity measures, and 5 constructs commonly associated with activity. Results: A moderate correlation was found between TriTrac and the main criterion mea sure. Subjects wore the TriTrac units 78% of the requested days and underre ported time not wearing the TriTrac, Conclusion: Accelerometer data must be interpreted with caution, given that subjects will likely underreport time not wearing the devices. Researchers should provide for the possibility of damaged TriTrac devices.
