Abstract
This work presents a way to predict the environmental properties of the out put stream from the wastewater treatment plant at Rhodiaco Ltda, one of the major chemical plants in Brazil. The industrial plant produces purified te rephtalic acid and generates wastewater that should be treated in an activa ted sludge system. The influence of input variables is analyzed. and satisf actory predicted results are obtained for an optimized situation. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
