Abstract
We report a longitudinal, electroencephalographic and neuropsychological an alysis of epilepsy with continuous spikes and waves during slow sleep (CSWS ) in a 19 year-old boy. The clinical course fluctuated, with temporary wors ening or improvement of the paroxysmal abnormalities, epilepsy and cognitiv e functions. At the end of the follow-up period, seizures persisted. Evalua tion of the boy's behaviour, language and cognitive function suggested a dy sexecutive syndrome. We discuss the relationship between paroxysmal abnorma lities and neuropsychological disorders.
