Long-Range Alpha (LRA) emission probability is studied using a one dimensio
nal sudden approximation model. The probability of the energy transfer betw
een the scissioning nucleus and the LRA particle as well as the LRA angular
distribution are discussed for several elongations and for several mass sp
lits at scission. Finally, it is shown that a comparison between the calcul
ated LRA emission probability and the corresponding experimental data allow
s a determination of the Q(alpha)-value at the scission point.
