Abstract
Poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPA) is a thermally sensitive polymeric mate rial. PNIPA hydrogel has been widely used in many fields and a fast respons e late is needed in some practical applications. In this article, a new PNI PA Eel was prepared using polyethylene glycol as the pore-forming agent dur ing the polymerization reaction. This PNIPA gel has a significantly large s welling ratio at a temperature below its lower critical solution temperatur e and exhibits a very fast deswelling rate. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd.
