On March 14, 2000, the Harvard Journal on Legislation held a public symposi
um on the growing use of class action litigation, as an alternative to the
legislative process, as a means of effectuating social reform. Participants
included scholars, practitioners, and activists with a variety of experien
ce in the class action arena. Articles and essays by Sour of these particip
ants, Jonathan Turley: David Rosenberg, Victor Schwartz, and Jeff Reh, are
