Abstract
A strategy has been described for the synthesis of 2-ethylthio-6-(3-hydroxy -1,2-O-isopropylidenepropyl)pteridin-4(3H)-one, which can be used as a usef ul intermediate for the conversion of neopterin to biopterin.
