Abstract
The crystal structure of Tm2Ni12P7 has been determined by single crystal X- ray diffraction. Tm2Ni12P7 crystallizes in the Zr2Fe12P7 structure type wit h a=9.0577(13) Angstrom and c=3.6641(7) Angstrom. The sample was prepared b y melting the elements in a tin flux. All crystals show racemic twinning. T he long standing dispute over the the correct space group symmetry (P (6) o ver bar or P6(3)/m) could be solved: Tm2Ni12P7 crystallizes in the non-cent rosymmetric space group P (6) over bar.
