For seven homologous compounds, the highest electro-antennography responses
from male Diloba caeruleocephala (L.) were elicited by (Z)-5-decenyl aceta
te (Z)-7-dodecenyl acetate and (Z)-8-tridecenyl acetate. The (Z)-8-tridecen
yl acetate caused significant attraction of males of this species in the fi
eld, in both Bulgaria and Hungary. (Z)-8-pentadecenyl acetate, when added a
s a 10% admixture to the latter, acted as an attractant inhibitor. In Bulga
ria, the flight period of this species, as established by means of pheromon
e traps, commenced at the beginning of September and lasted until the middl
e of October.
