Abstract
The soft-rotator model was employed for a consistent analysis of the collec tive nuclear structure, B(E2) and the nucleon (both neutron and proton) int eraction with C-12 and the optical potential parameters were deduced to des cribe the nucleon-induced cross sections up to 150 MeV. It was found that t he state-dependent enhancement of the coupling strengths for various transi tions as predicted by the soft-rotator model, determined from the analysis of the collective level structure, was inevitable to describe the nucleon s cattering to different excited states in a unified manner. It was also reco gnized that inclusion of the proton scattering data is important to estimat e the optical potential parameters up to high incident energies. As a conse quence, the model could describe nucleon interaction data with a good accur acy up to 150 MeV, showing that the present method is a powerful tool for e valuation of nucleon-induced nuclear data, especially for the high energy l ibraries.
