Cerebral aspergillosis and neuro-meningeal cryptococcosis in a patient with AIDS.

The authors report a case of cerebral aspergillosis associated with cryptoc occal meningitis revealed by autopsy in an AIDS patient. These 2 opportunis tic infections had already been diagnosed while the patient was alive but t reatment had not eradicated either infectious agent. The qualitative and qu antitative alteration of T lymphocytes but also of phagocytic cells (polynu clear neutrophils and macrophages) may explain this therapeutic failure.
