Abstract
A new method for the calculation of coincidence summing out corrections app ropriate for gamma-spectrometry measurements in the Ge well-type detector g eometry is proposed. The method is based on a simple formula for the total efficiency of the detector, using an exact analytical relation for the mean detector thickness, combined with approximate formulas describing the inte ractions in the source and in the materials interposed between the source a nd the detector. The method can be easily applied for establishing the corr ected, nuclide independent, efficiency calibration curves of Ge well-type d etectors using experimental calibration data obtained with the common mixed gamma-ray standard source containing Co-60 and Y-88.
