Abstract
The existence of self-similar solutions of the Riemann problem for a m odified Broadwell model is established. Regularity estimates at the si ngular points of the problem are obtained. The passing of the fluid-dy namic limit is justified, which yields the Riemann problem for a syste m of conservation laws.
