Abstract
A new species of Machilinus is described from the Iberian Peninsula. The ne w taxon is named M. costal, because it was found near the coast. The most i mportant diagnostic characteristics of the species are described, including the sensilla pattern of the antennae. The new species is compared morpholo gically with its closest relatives: M. rupestris, M. casasecai. M. botellai , M. rosalie, M. spinosus and M. el- harchai. Some observations on this spe cies phenology are also reported.
