Present work of YBCO-coated conductor in China

The preliminary research work of coated conductor by means of pulsed laser deposition (PLD), sputtering and MOCVD is briefly reviewed. Several kinds o f metal substrate, including Hastelly alloy, rolling textured pure nickel a nd textured silver, are used in different laboratories. Yttria-stabilized z irconia (YSZ) and CeO2 as buffer layers are deposited on metal substrate on certain process. A number of techniques by which effective the epitaxial q uality of YBCO film have been discussed and considerable progress has been obtained in this field. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V.
