Abstract
Atrial fibrillation is a common cardiac arrhythmia and carries a high risk of stroke and systemic embolism, particularly in order patients. Should the se patients be treated with anticoagulant drugs and, if so, which ones and how much? In this article, Dr Gornick reviews the literature an this subjec t and makes suggestions on which treatment plan to choose.
