Abstract
The covalently bonded fluorine atom acts as a donor towards alkali metal ca tions. The C-F ... M+ interaction was proved by a complexation study betwee n a hexafluoro cage compound and the alkali metal cations. The thermodynami c parameters of the complexation were estimated based on NMR spectroscopy. A F-19-Cs-133 spin coupling was observed at low temperatures in the F-19 NM R of the Cs+ complex.
