Abstract
The head-tail (dipolar) ordering in commensurate submonolayer films of carbon monoxide adsorbed on graphite recently observed in heat-capaci ty measurements for T < 5.18 K has been investigated by neutron diffra ction. It will be shown that the experimental results are consistent w ith an end-for-end ordered commensurate herringbone structure.
