Abstract
Heisenberg spin ladders offer valuable insight into the behaviour of l ow dimensional magnetic systems, representing an intermediate stage be tween one dimensional spin chains and two dimensional lattices. We hav e studied the spin dynamics of the spin ladder material (VO)(2)P2O7 by inelastic neutron scattering and have found that the observed scatter ing is broadly consistent with the excitation spectrum predicted by th eoretical studies.
