Ce3Al11 is a Kondo compound with two magnetic phases below 6.2 K: a fe
rromagnetic one and at lower temperatures a modulated and incommensura
te one. The stability of the modulated structure at T = 1.5 K, compare
d to the ferromagnetic one, is quite unusual. A competition between ma
gnetic interactions and Kondo effects can explain the moment reduction
. It is important to check whether the modulation persists at lower te
mperatures. New experiments have been performed on D10(ILL) with a dil
ution cryostat designed for a 4-circle apparatus: at 300 mK the modula
tion of moments is still present and the structure remains incommensur
ate.
