Abstract
The early stages of the decomposition reaction in Cu-0.9 at% Ti at 350 degrees C have been investigated by means of small- and wide-angle ne utron scattering (SWANS). This technique is distinguished by an extrem ely high resolution superior even to that of high-resolution transmiss ion electron microscopy (HRTEM) and field ion microscopy (FIM). The ex perimental results indicate a coarsening reaction of a considerably re duced rate to take place from the very beginning of the decomposition reaction.
