The porosity of plasma-sprayed alumina was investigated by means of hi
gh-resolution SANS technique in the regime of strong multiple scatteri
ng. The size, specific surface and volume fraction of pores were deter
mined by fitting a model correlation function to the data with the sca
ttering probability N as one of free parameters. The pore characterist
ics are reproduced well for different values of N and agree with the r
esults of other porosimetric methods.
