The problem of processing short-stapled flax in blends with cotton, viscose
, and polyester on the standard cotton-spinning equipment is considered. Th
e mechanical properties of blended yarn samples produced by the proposed te
chnology are measured in order to assess the influence of blend composition
on textile properties. The blended yarns are used for manufacturing knitte
d fabric. The handle factor and physical-mechanical properties of the fabri
cs are determined. The method of consecutive cluster analysis is employed i
n order to evaluate the correlation between objective properties and the ha
ndle factor of fabrics. The enzyme treatment of flax fibres by oxidoreducta
ze has been used to improve the appearance of blended yarns and knitted fab
ric.
