Abstract
This article reviews the molecular biology of hematologic cancers and the c urrent understanding of prognostic factors for these cancers. Specific mole cular biomarkers that have potential as prognostic factors for various hema tologic cancers are discussed. Quantitative and statistical methods of eval uating the usefulness of prognostic factors are presented.
