Abstract
We describe and compare the organization of infection control and some infe ction control practices in 10 hospitals in seven different European countri es. Great differences were observed. By evaluating infection control and hy giene practices in different European centers, areas of prime importance fo r the development of a European infection control standard may be defined ( Infect Control Hosp Epidemiol 2000;21:531-534).
