The isobaric vapour-liquid equilibrium has been experimentally studied
for the ternary mixture (1-butanol+n-hexane+1-butylamine) and for the
binary mixtures (1-butanol+n-hexane), (1-butanol+1-butylamine), and (
n-hexane+1-butylamine) at 10l.3 kPa. The activity coefficients were fo
und to be thermodynamically consistent and they were satisfactorily co
rrelated with the Margules, van Laar, Wilson, NRTL and UNIQUAC equatio
ns. They have been also compared with the results obtained from the ap
plication of ASOG and the modified UNIFAC group contribution methods.
