Abstract
Dicyanamide, [N(CN)(2)](-) (dca), formed monodimensional compounds of formu la [Mn(mu(1,5)-dca)(NO3)(terpy)](n) 1 and [Mn(mu(1,5)-dca)(H2O)(terpy)](n)[ dca](n) 2 (terpy=2,2':6',2 "-terpyridine). X-Ray diffraction analysis revea led two one-dimensional systems with single dca bridges. The manganese atom in 1 is seven-co-ordinated, with a MnN5O2 pentagonal bipyramidal environme nt, whereas in 2 the manganese atom is six-co-ordinated. Susceptibility mea surements of 1 and 2 indicate slight antiferromagnetic coupling.
