Abstract
The reaction between the cyclodisilazane [Cl2Si-NSiMe(CMe3)(2)](2) and NH3 afforded the first cis-2,4-diamino-2,4-dichloro-1,3-bis(di-tert-butylmethyl silyl)cyclodisilazane [Cl(H2N)Si-NSiMe(CMe3)(2)](2) 1; the nitrogen of the NH2 group has a planar environment and the shortest Si-NH2 bond length foun d so far in an aminosilane (167.1 pm).
