Abstract
The high spin states of Gd-142 were studied via the Cd-111(Cl-35, 1p3n ) reaction at 170 MeV, Three dipole cascades were found, one of which decayed to both the proton high-j particle states and the neutron high -j hole states. These can be classified in the category of ''Shears Ba nd'' which is introduced by S.Frauendorf.
