Abstract
The goal of this work was to quantitatively assess the plastic anisotropy o f strongly textured polycrystals with and without a distribution of hard (n onshearable by dislocations) precipitates. The anisotropic behaviour was ch aracterized by the dimensional change in the deformed uniaxial deformation specimens and the stress-strain curves measured in uniaxial and plane strai n compression tests. A model based on kinematic hardening was developed to quantitatively describe the plastic behaviour of materials containing hard precipitates such as theta' in Al-Cu alloys. The results of this model were compared with the experimental results.
