F. Barlat et al., Plastic anisotropy in precipitation-strengthened aluminium alloys deformedin uniaxial and plane strain deformation, MODEL SIM M, 8(4), 2000, pp. 435-443
The goal of this work was to quantitatively assess the plastic anisotropy o
f strongly textured polycrystals with and without a distribution of hard (n
onshearable by dislocations) precipitates. The anisotropic behaviour was ch
aracterized by the dimensional change in the deformed uniaxial deformation
specimens and the stress-strain curves measured in uniaxial and plane strai
n compression tests. A model based on kinematic hardening was developed to
quantitatively describe the plastic behaviour of materials containing hard
precipitates such as theta' in Al-Cu alloys. The results of this model were
compared with the experimental results.
