Three new ternary chalcogenides of thallium and gold, TlAgS4, AuCuSe4, and
Au2Se3Te4-Au4Se5Te8 s.s. were discovered in the three respective synthetic
systems Tl-Ag-S, Au-Cu-Se and Au-Se-Te at run temperatures below 400 degree
s C. The new disulfide phase does not appear to be related to the known str
ucture types of comparative compositions and is crystallochemically of spec
ial interest. In addition to the TlAgS4 phase, the current TlAgS2 formula a
s a phase should be revised in favour of the exactly determined formula Tl2
Ag2S3 in the Tl-Ag-S system. For each of the three investigated systems, is
othermal sections of one or two temperatures are given.
