Abstract
This review describes the synthesis of the frameworks of furo[2,3-b]-, -[3,2-b]-, -[2,3-c]- and -[3,2-c]pyridine, and reactions of the furop yridines: such as bromination, nitration, H-D exchange and lithiation at the furan ring, chlorination, acetoxylation and cyanation of the N- oxides of furopyridines an 2,3-dihydrofuropyridines, and conversion of each substituent into other functional groups.
