Abstract
There are limited data addressing the issue of final adult height following treatment with recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH). Utilizing the chro nological age of 18 years as the arbitrary age of final adult height for ch ildren with chronic renal insufficiency, all patients enrolled in the North American Pediatric Renal Transplant Cooperative Study prior to January 199 9, and who had at least one follow-up visit at age 18 years or older, were evaluated. When comparing the final adult height in those patients receivin g prior rhGH with a group not receiving rhGH, the delta height standard dev iation score was greater in the rhGH treatment group.
