Abstract
Both very viscous Newtonian flow and Maxwell viscoelastic models have been used in recent publications to compute the time-scale over which glass wind owpanes at ambient temperatures will flow perceptibly. We compare these two different methods and show them to be, despite first appearances, complete ly consistent. We also show that the time-scale is determined by Newtonian flow behaviour.
