Abstract
Possible sources of the incorrectness in using the net anodic current densi ty from a voltammetric curve for calculating the metal dissolution rate at different potentials (according to Faradays law) are systematized. Such a s ource may originate from commensurably intense side electrochemical process es, salt deposition on the dissolving metal surface, high ohmic potential d rops, etc. Ways to reveal and overcome conditions that complicate interpret ing the results of voltammetric measurements are suggested.
