M. Pynka et al., Panniculitis in a HIV(+) pregnant woman, SEVENTH EUROPEAN CONFERENCE ON CLINICAL ASPECTS AND TREATMENT OF HIV-INFECTION, 1999, pp. 63-66
We report a case of Weber-Christian disease in a HIV(+) pregnant woman, wit
h histopathologically confirmed panniculitis. Relapsing febrile nonsuppurat
ive nodular panniculitis was the only abnormality found in the patient. The
re was spontaneous remission of the symptoms during the second term of the
pregnancy. The mutual influence of HIV infection, pregnancy and presented d
isorder remains unclear. We postulated that Weber-Christian disease may be
manifestation of immunological phenomenon in early HIV disease in the pregn
ant woman. This is, to our knowledge, the first case of panniculitis in HIV
(+) pregnant woman.
