Abstract
The total synthesis of (S,R,R,R)-Nebivolol, a hypertensive agent, is report ed. Claisen rearrangement and a one-pot Sharpless asymmetric epoxidation, i ntramolecular epoxide opening with internal phenoxide anion to generate the chiral chromane are the key steps.
