Abstract
The solid-phase synthesis of tertiary methylamines via the nucleophilic dis placement of benzotriazole Mannich adducts with Grignard reagents using a h ydroxylamine linker is described. The chemistry is exemplified by the synth esis of the MAO inhibitor alpha-methylpargyline. Also described is the synt hesis of the analgesic Tramadol by an alternative one-pot solid-phase Manni ch reaction. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
