The Fe-21 %Cr-17,5 %Mn alloys with different nickel and nitrogen contents w
ere prepared at controlled nitrogen activity. Phase equilibria after long t
ime annealing at 1073K and 1273K were investigated using optical metallogra
phy, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The
two- and three-phase equilibria combined from fee, bcc, sigma phase, and f
rom Cr-nitrides type hcp were identified. The obtained experimental results
were compared with predicted phase diagrams of the Fe-Cr-Mn-Ni-N system ca
lculated by means of the CALPHAD method.
