The superplastic formability of Zn-22Al thin sheets at low temperatures is
evaluated under biaxial tensile stress. Experimental results show that the
Zn-22Al thin sheet possesses an excellent superplastic formability in the t
emperature range of 150 degrees C to 200 degrees C. No cavities are found i
n these Zn-22Al thin-sheet specimens after deformation, nor does the microh
ardness of the superplastically formed Zn-22A1 thin sheets exhibit any oste
nsible change. In addition, the corrosion properties of the material do not
degrade after superplastic forming.
