Although surgery is highly effective for symptomatic relief in patients wit h aortic stenosis, symptoms of congestive heart failure may be still presen t postoperatively. This group of patients with aortic stenosis is character ized by a wide range of left atrial size, which can predict postoperative s ymptomatic improvement.
