Abstract
The presence of a tracheal stoma in patients with previous total laryngecto my who require cardiac operations is associated with an increased risk of w ound complications and tracheal injuries when a full sternotomy is used. Th e aim of this report is to describe a technique of manubrium-sparing sterno tomy, which can be used in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass graft ing without cardiopulmonary bypass (C) 2000 by The Society of Thoracic Surg eons.
